24 Environmental cooperatives of 30 members per cooperative(720 members ) received training on neem seed and leave extraction in two communities of Doka and Tofa in Kano state to minimise the usage and dependence on chemicals to control pests that attack crops and vegetables.
The groups will complement this with the application of organic compost fertilizer and appropriate crop rotation to enhance food production safety for the consumption of the general populace.
This method uses a small portion of their land to grow close to 21 different varieties of tubers, cereals, fruits, and vegetables serve to support household food security improved income, and access to nutritious and affordable crops for their daily household needs
