Over 6000 Community Members Now Have Access to Safe Drinking Water

Over 6000 community members, in remote village in Kano State Nigeria, young and old particularly women that have been trekking long distances now celebrate access to safe drinking water through a borehole constructed and donated by WOFAN a member of women for water partnership (wfwp), a global women network of over 50 countries. 

This is in line with both organization’s effort to support the SDG targets to leave no one behind in terms of basic needs and amenities. The borehole also irrigates the school garden, as the runoff water ends in the school vegetable and fruits garden to encourage agriculture among the populace and promote nutrition. Occasion was graced by traditional and political/public office holders amidst support and applause by school children. 30 community youths and artisans were trained on the hand pump maintainable and complete tools were distributed to the youths through the district head of the region
