The Women Farmers Advancement Network (WOFAN) has commenced training of trainers (ToT) on GAP for 350 Extension Workers from 7 states of Adamawa, Gombe, Kano, Katsina, Jigawa,, Benue and Nasarawa states of Nigeria to enhance Food and Nutrition Security (FNS) and improved family Nutrition, with focus on Rice and production of afflatoxin free groundnut. The main aim of the training which will be stepped down by the trained extension Workers to 42,000 farmers across the 7 states over the next three years, is to enhance the production of afflatoxin-free groundnut and promote organically produced rice, using Climate SMART and biological control methods to boost the global competiveness of groundnut and rice production in meeting world standard.
